Did you know that Driver Carelessness is the biggest cause of motorcyclist deaths and serious injuries?
So, as a driver, always look again for a motorcyclist before you make any manoeuvre. A glance is not enough.
Motorcyclists could be approaching more quickly than you think. Because a motorbike is much smaller than a car, they can be difficult to see, especially when they are coming from behind, coming out of junctions, at roundabouts, overtaking you or filtering through traffic, even if they have lights on.
So when you’re driving, always ‘Be Biker Aware’. Always look for motorcyclists coming out of junctions and at roundabouts. Remember motorcyclists and cyclists when checking your mirrors – they may be getting ready to overtake you or filtering through traffic and not directly behind you.
